Enlighten Education was founded by Principal Hui Shen in 2009 and has since grown into the largest Chinese school in the Silicon Valley area. Guided by the goal of “learning for practical application,” the school emphasizes a balanced development of culture, education, and soft skills, focusing on teaching Mandarin Chinese, simplified characters, and Pinyin.

Over the years, Enlighten Education has expanded to include weekend Chinese schools, after-school programs, summer camps, and preschools. In addition to 34 Chinese language classes ranging from preschool to 10th grade, students can also take part in cultural and enrichment programs such as Chinese dance, martial arts, Go, chess, Math Olympiad, painting, public speaking (in both Chinese and English), and soccer.

The school is dedicated to promoting Chinese culture, providing students with opportunities to experience and appreciate it beyond the classroom. By nurturing soft skills and cultural literacy, Enlighten aims to spark curiosity, deepen students’ understanding of China’s 5,000-year civilization, and help them become well-rounded individuals with a global perspective.

Enlighten Education features a modern, spacious campus with a comfortable and well-designed environment. The Enlighten Chinese School and After-School Program occupy nine acres, with an indoor area of 15,000 square feetincluding 18 standard classrooms, offices, a small library, an auditorium, basketball and soccer fields, a children’s playground, and a dedicated parking lot.

The soccer field is a regulation-size, grass-covered playing field suitable for matches. The outdoor playground, adjacent to the field, includes climbing ropes, mazes, and slides, along with sports equipment such as balls, diabolo, and jump ropes. The entire campus is Wi-Fi enabled, and every classroom is equipped with digital teaching tools including laptops and projectors.
